Leverkusen´s Volland out until 2017

Bayer Leverkusen will be without forward Kevin Volland for the remainder of 2016 due to a thigh injury

The 24-year-old, who joined Leverkusen in a club-record switch from Hoffenheim before the start of the season, suffered a complex torn thigh muscle in training according to the Bundesliga club, which will result in an eight-week absence.

Volland must now target the German top-flight s return from its mid-season break on January 22 and he said: Of course this does not help but I won t hang my head low.

I m going to concentrate on my rehabilitation and do everything I can to get fit quickly.

I won t hang my head low on his injury

Colorado Rapids v San Jose Earthquakes: Armas sees winning mentality in hosts

Chris Armas believes the Colorado Rapids are already developing a winning mentality, as they bid to continue their strong start to the campaign against the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday.

Colorado sit fifth in the Western Conference standings with 18 points from 11 games after beating New York City FC 2-1 on their travels last week, their fifth win of the campaign.

That is as many victories as they managed throughout the entirety of last season, and another win on Saturday would take them past the 20-point mark, which they required 27 matches to surpass in 2023.

Often I m just watching and learning from the best teams and coaches, that could be in our league, it could be around the world, but when the whistle blows we know how to ramp it up, Armas said this we…

Robben could miss rest of 2010, says Bayern boss

Dutch winger Arjen Robben could be out for the rest of the year as he struggles to recover from a thigh injury he picked up at the World Cup, his club Bayern Munich said on Sunday.

Robben, 26, picked up the injury playing for the Netherlands before last month s World Cup finals and although he played a big part in helping the Dutch get to the final, he has aggravated the injury and now needs complete rest.

It now looks as though the Dutchman could be out until the winter break when the second half of the season begins in January.

It is more than questionable whether Arjen will be able to play for us in the Bundesliga s round of matches before Christmas, Bayern s director of sport Christian Nerlinger told German daily Bild on Sunday.

Rashford keen for Euro 2020 penalty redemption at World Cup

Marcus Rashford is hoping he gets a chance to redeem himself from a missed penalty in England s European Championship final defeat to Italy during the World Cup.

The Manchester United forward was among three members of Gareth Southgate s side to fail to beat Gianluigi Donnarumma from the spot in the shootout, alongside Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka.

The trio were then subject to racial abuse on social media, but that has not put him off stepping up for the Three Lions if required in Qatar.

Racism is not good to go through as an individual but it s not good to see anyone go through it. [It s] more just disappointment. You re disappointed that people have views like that, he said.

And the main reason is that you don t have those views about anyone else, re…

Jaguars vs Chiefs Divisional Round Props: Toney Ready to Shine

The first game of this year’s Divisional Round is on Saturday and it’s a tasty clash between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Kansas City Chiefs. Ravens vs Titans Prop Bets: Lots to Zay in This One

The Baltimore Ravens put up an absolute stinker in Week 5 after the offense managed just 10 points, largely due to a league-wide season-high of seven drops, two of which were for touchdowns. In Week 6, they will travel to take on the Tennessee Titans, who suffered a tough divisional loss last week against the Gardner Minshew-led Colts. The NFL odds have the Ravens as favorites.

Will Lamar Jackson’s pass catchers get over their case of the butterfingers and help the Ravens put up some points? Or will Derrick Henry & Co. get things back on track overseas?
